This week has been so exciting!
First, our new addition Cosmo, the bearded dragon, followed by loads of fun on St. Patrick’s Day, plus baby chickens hatched yesterday.
Last month, our Erdkinder teacher, Ms. Daniela, bought fertilized eggs, which we had in the incubator for 21 days. Yesterday, on St. Patrick’s day, we finally could hear some chirping and they started to pip. Straight after, two of the baby chicks started pecking through the egg using their egg tooth. We were so excited to witness the cycle of life.
In our Erdkinder curriculum, we are building upon the natural sense of curiosity of students. They can develop an understanding of biology through direct experience with living things, their life cycles and their habitats.
