Each year students in Questa Middle School have the opportunity to enroll in Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN). The students spend the school year researching world topics that the UN is currently addressing. After months of preparation, the students travel to New York City for the MMUN Conference. The culmination of the conference takes place at the United Nations where the students actually occupy the seats held by the UN dignitaries in the General Assembly and vote on the resolutions they have reached consensus upon during their working sessions. This experiential learning is transformational for our students. The opportunity to meet students from around the world and collaborate to find meaningful solutions to world problems is, as the students report to us, “Amazing!”
This year our students not only attended the conference but also arrived early to tour the city!
