Our middle school students finished their third cycle with amazing arts projects throughout their Language Arts classes. While reading the book “The Giver”, writing persuasive essays and having socratic discussions, our students could choose their final project about “The Giver”. Apart from writing their own movie scene and acting it out, many of our middle school students chose to create a mural. Incorporating art in our ELA class encourages divergent thinking, helps students to think critically, build analogies and metaphors, and also synthesize their learning.
The projects turned out to be great!
